I’ve been collaborating with Silk Therapeutics for a while now, and was so excited when they asked me to try out their BRAND NEW LabGrab line of products. (I’m talking like pre-launch testing. #nextlevel)
If you’re just tuning in, Silk Therapeutics is a Boston-based company that makes skincare products 1) with silk (seriously!) and 2) without harsh chemicals and synthetic junk (seriously!). Many of their products are EWGVerified™ by the Environmental Working Group, which is no easy task. I reviewed their Purely Radiant Daily Hydrating Serum and their Renewing Peel a few weeks back – you can learn more about those products and the company here.
What is LabGrab?
LabGrab, the brand-spankin’ new product line from Silk Therapeutics, has a really awesome story. Dr. Greg Altman, one of the co-founders, tells it much more eloquently here, but I’ll paraphrase: Research and development is incredibly expensive. Naturally, this raises the price when it comes time for consumers to buy a product – particularly when it comes to luxury skincare. However, their scientists often formulate many versions when testing and developing products – but only a few get chosen for the boutique line. What happens to the amazing ones that don’t get picked?
LabGrab is a line of limited production runs of great skincare products, with a focus more on what’s inside the package than how it’s packaged. (One cool detail of note, though: The inventor of each product’s initials are on the front!) LabGrab encourages feedback from the community – they want to know how you feel about the product, to influence future product development. How cool is that?!
Radiance; I has it
Serum is seriously amazing stuff. I feel a little naked when I forget to put it on! The LabGrab Hydrate/Radiance serum (which is unscented and EWGVerified™, in case you were wondering) only has 8 ingredients… and they make my sensitive skin feel great. I generally use two pumps all over my face and neck and follow with moisturizer (because I am part reptilian). For me, this serum does take a tiny bit longer to absorb than others – but I’m talking tiny – like maybe a minute longer? (Again, this could be because of the whole Lizard Lady thing.)
Eye see you
I’ve also been trying out the LabGrab Cream-Eye Renewal. I was really psyched to give this a go, because eye cream is a NECESSITY for me. (Yes, that is the biggest First World Problem you’ll hear about today.) We all know the skin around your eyes is the thinnest on your body, and I find that it’s often the driest on mine if I don’t moisturize it. I have chronic migraines, which causes me to rub and apply pressure to my eyes a lot. As a way to sort of say “I’m sorry!” to my eyelids, I try to treat them nicely when I can!
I was surprised when I first opened the jar – the cream has an unusual consistency, almost that of whipped butter. As soon as you apply it, though, it absorbs right away. It’s non-greasy, yet extremely hydrating. Like the serum, the Eye Renewal cream is also unscented and EWGVerified™ – this is a huge plus for me as I’ve had a lot of problems in the past with eye creams burning my eyes, even when I’m not rubbing it directly into them.
Shut up and take my money!
Where can you buy LabGrab? Well, it doesn’t officially launch until March 9 – except over on HSN!
