Deal With It: September Is the Best Month

September 1, 2016 6 Comments

Bold, sweeping declaration: September is the best month. Millions of depressed schoolchildren trudging ♫ back to life, back to reality ♫ probably disagree with me, but hear me out!

To me, September embodies the best parts of January (clean slates, fresh starts, all that jazz) with the amazing-ness of summer months (beautiful weather, nature at full glory, etc.). Not to mention, you’re missing out on the pressure that January represents – “I HAVE to make a resolution to give up sweets/run 15 miles a day/lose 40 pounds in 20 minutes” – and let’s not forget the crappy weather. September has those lovely warm days and cool nights… you can still go to the beach, but don’t have to be a slave to the air conditioner at night.

I can tell I haven’t sold you yet. So let me continue…

  • NEW OFFICE SUPPLIES

Remember that Staples commercial that declared going back to school as the “Most Wonderful Time of The Year”? Yeah… I was like that as a kid. And I’m that adult when it comes to picking out stationery and writing implements. Having disposable income has turned this habit into a slight addiction… as an adult, I still treat myself to new office supplies around this time of the year, just because I can.

  • INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY

September 13th is International Chocolate Day. Yes, that’s a thing. September is also National Preparedness Month, so GET PREPARED TO CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY.

  • BANNED BOOKS WEEK

Banned Books Week is September 25th – October 1, and we will be celebrating it HARD here at Blonde Seeking Ambition. Consider yourself forewarned.

  • FARMERS’ MARKETS

They’re seemingly everywhere in the fall, and I love it. Stocking up on fruits and veggies (and let’s face it, apple cider donuts!) is quite possibly the best way to shop local in the fall months.

I would like to point out that I made it through this entire post without mentioning pumpkin spice anything. Carry on.

Hopefully, you’ve been convinced by now that September is where it’s at. If not, tell me in the comments what your favorite month is and why!
